Group-IB (a cyber security provider) has released the findings of an investigation into Classiscam. Classiscam is a largely automated phishing scam as a service provider that is being leveraged by scammers to target online users throughout the world. The report findings suggest that the Asia Pacific Area scams are largely using telegram bots (telegram being an instant messaging like service for mobile devices), which create impersonations of websites and companies to obtain user data as well as receive fraudulent funds intended for real purchases. With a total of $64.5 Million scammed so far there does not seem to be any end in sight.
