Motherboard and tech manufacturer MSI reported a security breach in April 2023. The situation has evolved with the criminal parties advising they have gained highly valuable firmware and boot guard signing keys.
The key threat here is that firmware could be generated and proliferated which appears/reports as genuine but is breached with malware, spyware or otherwise. The situation continues to evolve however the consequences could be dire and in certain circumstances there is limited or no mitigation available at this time.
